The Artist
Colombian Visual Artist Camilo Arias is a creator of vibrant and energetic pieces that exude tropical energy and reflect his deep connection with nature. However, his works are more than just aesthetically pleasing; they convey a well-defined message centered around his four core beliefs: Human Rights, Environmental Conservation, Indigenous Cultures, and Surrealism. With a background in Cinema and 3D animation, Camilo has dedicated himself to the visual arts since 2014.
Arias's journey as an artist is rooted in his life experiences, having grown up without the stability of a home amidst the chaos of the Colombian armed conflict. His mental shield during this time was art, which has become his tool to escape death and fulfilling his dreams and goals. His bold use of colors reflects his upbringing in the wild, colorful, and exotic Colombian nature.
Camilo shares his message of hope, resilience, and creativity with the world through his international exhibitions and large-format murals. His exhibitions in Panama, Egypt, France and wall paintings in several continents as his participation in the 13th Cairo Biennale at the Modern Egyptian Art Museum in 2019 are just a few of his notable achievements.
Camilo's commitment to using art as a tool for social change is demonstrated through his volunteer work with social projects aimed at providing children in difficult situations access to art. His philosophy as an artist and entrepreneur is founded on the belief that art has the power to transform lives and create new opportunities.
For Camilo, art is not just a profession, but a passion that has given balance and meaning to his existence. His statement is not just an affirmation of his beliefs but is backed up by his life's work. His vibrant and striking pieces are a testament to his resilience, creativity, and hope, as well as his dedication to using art to make a positive impact on the world. As an artist, Camilo's work is more than just an expression of his creativity; it is a call to action to create a better world through Art.
