The Power of Art:
The Story of overcoming WAR
trough creativity
Camilo Arias is a Colombian Visual Artist who has spent more than a decade traveling the globe, showcasing his vivid and dynamic works in solo and group exhibitions in countries such as France, the USA, and notably, Egypt, where he participated in the Cairo Biennale 2022. Additionally, he has left his mark through captivating wall paintings in places such as Panama, Iceland, Spain, and Egypt.
His life story is a testament to the transformative power of Art. Born and raised in the midst of the Colombian armed conflict, Camilo found himself surrounded by death, chaos, and uncertainty. His parents, unable to provide for him, left him to fend for himself, and the state's neglect left him with little hope for a better future.
However, Camilo discovered a passion for Art, and it became his mental shield, his tool to escape death and fulfill his dreams. Through his Art, he found a way to cope with his past and channel his pain into something beautiful.
Camilo's Art is an ode to human resilience, environmental conservation, indigenous cultures, and surrealism. His works are vibrant and energetic, reflecting his deep connection with nature and the world around him. His bold use of colors and vivid imagery are rooted in his upbringing in the wild, colorful, and exotic Colombian nature.
Through his Art, Camilo shares his journey of overcoming adversity and the transformative power of creativity. His work has a profound impact on the viewer, positively affecting one's mood, reducing stress and anxiety, and enhancing creativity. Camilo's Art is a visual representation of these benefits and more.
